Documentation

Documentation

Overview

This is a documentation site to memorialize the installation, configuration or troubleshooting of different technologies. This started out as a private documentation dump to help me remember how I set certain things up. I feel like some of this information can be useful for others, so I’m trying to pay it forward. Much of this information was assembled through reading other people’s documentation dumps and a lot of trial and error.

Main Sections

Currently, there are the following main documentation sections:

Devops

This is a section for tools that don’t really fit into the other sections. This is generic DevOps tools and/or procedures documentation store.

Linux

This is a section for various Linux administration documents. Currently there is a subsection for Debian that I wrote when I was rolling out a new set of Debian 12 infrastructure. There are some items that are generic to Linux (LVM for example). Over time I suspect this will grow for other distros.

Kubernetes

This is a section to document the care and feeding of a Bare Metal Kubernetes cluster. I set up a bare metal cluster in my home, and ran into some interesting challenges. The documents in there are for getting this online, as well as some tools and interesting projects to manage the cluster.

Security

This is a section covering anything security adjacent. Over time this will expand as I try out new security tools.

Note

There are URLs, IP addresses and FQDNs littered all throughout these documents that refer to several different test networks I have sandboxed. Please replace/change these as appropriate to your environment whenever implementing these guides.
